"Best Food Around"

As Caroga Lake summer residents, we eat out a couple of times every week. Without a doubt, the Inn has by far the best food in the area. Chef Nate is simply fabulous!!

The Nick Stoner Inn was originally constructed in 1840 as the "Big" barn to the Wheelerville Tannery. It housed the oxen and horses necessary to haul logs and bark to this and other local tanneries; then a major industry in the area. The barn was converted into a hotel and restaurant/party space in 1927 when the Caroga Lake area became a favorite vacation and resort area. The late Cyrus Durey who owned the present golf course lands exchanged those lands and the current club house building for the Inn. He named the Inn after local legendary citizen Nick Stoner. Nick was born December 15, 1763 on the Jersey seacoast and spent his early childhood on the docks of New York City until eventually his pioneer father Henry Stoner moved the family north to Fulton county. Nick served in the army at fifteen. He fought in the War of Independence and served as a major in the war of 1812. He was an expert trapper and hunter. His fame spread far and he was known as a man that could kindle a fire, climb a tree, cook a dinner, empty a bottle, shoot a deer, hook a trout or scent an Indian quicker than any other man! Nick Stoner died in 1853 and a statute in his memory was erected by Cyrus Durey and can be seen on The Nick Stoner Municipal Golf Course acfross from the Inn that bears his name.

The 19th Hole provides a full menu and late night foodservice 7 days a week. Enjoy weekly dinner specials, live entertainment, free Wi-Fi and an excellent selection of spirits, fine wines, beers on draught and locally sourced craft beverages.

The Nick Stoner Inn offers a varied selection of private sleeping accommodations at reasonable prices and at over 16,000 square feet, we have large open spaces perfect for hosting private parties and reunions.

3) Banquet Facilities

The Inn can comfortably accomodate up to 250 people for private parties. There is a full bar, room for live music with a dance floor and is very spacious yet cozy with our oversized stone fireplace to add ambiance to your events.

4) Resort Area

The Inn is located within the largest State Park in the United States and offers abundent opportunities for hiking, fishing, boating, swimming and numerous other outdoor activities
